BANK SPECIFIC AND MACROECONOMIC FACTORS INFLUENCING ISLAMIC BANKS DEPOSITS

Deposits are like the bloodline for banks as they determine banks' lending capacity and a country's economic savings. However, existence of dual banking system poses challenge to Malaysian Islamic competing deposits. Despite this problem, few investigations were done comprehensively identify factors that could help attract deposits, particularly banks. The purpose paper is fill gap on deposits 16 in Malaysia. Secondary data from bank's annual reports Department Statistics Malaysia 2015 2019 analyzed, comprising Bank seven predictors an empirical model using STATA. result shows strong fit with 92% R squared value Return Assets, bank concentration, Business Enterprise Depositor affect positively significantly while Capital Adequacy Ratio showed negative significant influence These strongly effective at 1% level. In contrast, Financing Deposit Gross Domestic Product do not Contrary theory, study found increase inflation encourages customers their saving findings unique They indicate important policy implications practitioners, namely, focus business enterprise customers, improve market share profitability order taking advantage high inflationary period more depositors.
